Oil of the Week: Jasmine
I feel like the universe is sending the same message week after week lately, while also showing us as we work on ourselves, where our support comes from. This week, as Jenny so eloquently outlined, we are our own unique beings of mother, father, spirit, Earth, sky, stars, sun and moon and I knew a special oil was needed this week.
Enter...Jasmine!
Jasmine (Jasminum officinal) is an evergreen vine with delicate white flowers. The vine originated in Iran and India and is now most common to the regions of Morocco, Italy, Egypt, and France. The essential oil is made from the solvent extraction using alcohol or CO2 of the jasmine flowers. Traditionally that first yield was then subjected to a soak in oil, a process known as effleurage, to extract the scent of the flowers, long ago called the souls of the petals. The resulting oil is a highly floral base note which smells sweet, rich, and exotic!
Spiritually, jasmine is known to provide a personal spiritual haven with oneself and exactly the type of special oil needed to realize who we are, where we came from, and what we are made of! Jasmine can help us with that divine connection and realizing our potential.
Emotionally, jasmine can provide relief from stress, sadness and exhaustion bringing a sense of confidence and stimulation to our brains! It can help us to feel in balance and has been known historically as a wonderful aphrodisiac. ;)
Physically, jasmine is wonderful for headaches and skin related issues. It has also been known to provide relief during the birth of a baby for not only a comforting scent, but also aiding in a smooth transition.
Jasmine is a special oil, as you can see, reserved only for the most special of people....YOU!! You deserve this oil and trust me you will enjoy. With much love as you navigate the rest of your week.
