Oil of the Week: Myrrh

The oil of the week this week is a repost because it could not be more fitting with not only our card of the week, but also with the celebration of the birth of Jesus, as a gift given by the magi.

Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) is an oil that comes from the resin of the bush native to Africa and Arabia.

The reason I choose Myrrh this week is that emotionally and spiritually when applied or diffused Myrrh can support inner peace and stillness, ease sorrow, connect the physical with the spiritual and strengthen the link between the crown and root chakra. It is very calming to the nervous system.

Historically, myrrh has been used as an incense and anointing oil for sacred rituals and was one of the offerings given at the birth of Jesus, aligning perfectly with the celebration of Christmas this week! It is also known to be used as an embalming oil at his death. It's a gift good as gold for not only kings and sacred deities, but also to ourselves! Continue to practice that which Hilarion delivered this week....retreat for self care and divine healing with Myrrh to guide the way 💕
