Oil of the Week: Angelica
Happy New Year! I am looking forward to what 2021 has to offer and focusing my intentions in the new year to self growth and daily practice for the body and mind.
The oil of the week this week is Angelica. Why you ask? Well with the energy of the fire guardian looking at what our passions are and my intentions for the new year I wanted to showcase an oil capable of meeting those goals!
Angelica (Angelica archangelica) comes from the steam distillation of the roots of the angelica bush native to mostly Eastern Europe. It is a base note with an earthy, strong plant like odor.
Physically, angelica is warming to the body when diffused or applied topically. It can provide immune and circulatory system support by aiding as a cleanser of toxins. It provides physical support to stress and fatigue conditions that leave us feeling worn down. It is known to improve energy. It provides respiratory support by easing coughs and digestive support by improving appetite and gas! Angelica can also affect female hormones so it should not be used if you are pregnant or nursing. It is also recommended to not be used in people who have diabetes. Use caution in the sun if you have applied it topically.
Emotionally, angelica provides comfort by promoting feelings of balance, focus, grounding, inner visions (hello....self growth and reflection), stamina and strength (who couldn't use some stamina about now?!).
Spiritually, angelica draws on our angelic forces and support. If you haven't heard Jenny and I talk about our angel support hear me now! We have a force behind us that supports us through our journey on this earthly plane.....thank them often, believe they are there, and see how they support you! Start by diffusing some angelica and have a little faith...they will show you that they are there! For me...my most common sign is seeing 11:11 ALL THE TIME! When I see it, I acknowledge my angels and thank them for their presence! With this type of support angelica oil can help us feel compassion and understanding for not only ourselves, but others as well. It can foster our spiritual connections.
Happy first full week of 2021 and may your week bring comfort, blessings and some self reflection. XOXO
